Virtual Food Bank Collections

Zeta Mu Sigma is completing a Virtual Food Drive. The Virtual Food Bank program collects financial donations to purchase food for the Blue Ridge Food Bank Network in Charlottesville, VA. Their mission is to reduce hunger through programs and partnerships which efficiently obtain and distribute nutritious food and other products to people in need. Help us help others donate today at http://www.brafb.org/ and click the Virtual Food Bank link.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Network is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are fully tax-deductible as allowed by law. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank has not ever, and will not ever, sell our mailing list. Our donor files will always remain confidential.

Operation BigBookBag

Zeta Mu Sigma is currently collecting school supplies for the Charlottesville/Goochland areas. Each year students begin the school year unprepared because of the lack of school supplies. Imagine how a child feels when they do not have the needed supplies to complete schoolwork. We would like to assist these students with our Operation BigBookBag program. Operation BigBookBag is a national program of Sigma Gamma Rho that is implemented in each chapter. Our goal is to provide school supplies as well as mentoring to students in need.

Please contact us today if you are interested in donating to this great program or if you are in need of school supplies for a child. If you have any questions or would like more information on the program or our other events, please contact us at zetamusigmachapter@gmail.com

Introducing Zeta Mu Sigma Chapter

The Zeta Mu Sigma Alumnae Chapter was reactivated in order to provide exemplary service to the Charlottesville, VA area. As the undergraduate sorors of Theta Lambda & Lambda Iota worked diligently in building Sigma Gamma Rho in the Charlottesville & Harrisonburg area, graduate members in the area began to realize the great opportunity available to share Sigma Gamma Rho with others outside of the school setting. After many meetings and persistence the Zeta Mu Sigma Chapter was reactivated with seven dedicated women.

The vision for Zeta Mu Sigma Chapter is to be a premiere chapter that works diligently & cooperatively with one another and other chapters to bring innovative programs and stellar service to the Charlottesville, VA area and beyond. Our goal is to achieve excellence through Greater Service and to accomplish Greater Progress within our community. Our vision encompasses leading by example & attracting women of like mind who are interested in serving their fellow man, woman and child through a strong and loving sisterhood.

Zeta Mu Sigma chapter has begun to think out of the box in planning programs in the Charlottesville area. While performing programs in line with the national organization's signature programs, Zeta Mu Sigma has begun implementing programs like a Virtual Food Drive, Breast Friends Luncheon, The Savvy Young Investors business camp for youth & a Zeta Mu Sigma signature program called “Sister Chapters”. The Sister Chapters programs provides us an opportunity to partner with a Sigma chapter out of our home state generating a great opportunity to get to know Sorors outside of our immediate area, a chance to road trip and to have communication with other chapters for collaboration and support on each chapter’s events. Our sister chapter for this year is Kappa Chi Sigma Chapter serving Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. You can visit their site and keep up with their events at http://www.montcosgrhos.org/.

We are so excited to be able to be in the forefront of providing quintessential service to the Charlottesville, VA area. We hope sorors are able to attend some of our programs and we look forward to working with sorors all over the country. For more information about our events & programs please visit the Zeta Mu Sigma Alumnae Chapter website at http://www.zetamusigmasgrho.org or contact us via email at zetamusigmachapter@gmail.com
